**Combined Event Description:**
The Kennedy Museum of Art at Ohio University presents two significant exhibitions: "Material Matters" and "Resilience and Resistance." "Material Matters," running from April 10, 2026, to March 21, 2027, showcases the craftsmanship and cultural significance of materials in preserving community histories. This exhibition is curated and designed by 26 undergraduate and graduate students from various disciplines, with support from Ohio University Libraries and Southeast Ohio History Center. Concurrently, "Resilience and Resistance" features 23 thought-provoking artworks that highlight themes of activism, addressing historical and contemporary social issues, including Civil Rights and gender inequity. This exhibition is curated by student interns Luiza de Araujo Caetano and Luca Gee. Both exhibitions are generously funded by the Ohio Arts Council and offer free admission, with donations appreciated. The museum is located at Lin Hall, 100 Ridges Circle, Athens, Ohio, and has consistent gallery hours, closing on Mondays and varying hours throughout the week.
