Prints Inspired by Quilts
COMMUNITY OPEN STUDIO
Kennedy Museum of Art
Sunday, August 24, 2025
2 PM - 4 PM
Join us at the Kennedy Museum for Prints Inspired by Quilts, our next Community Open Studio on Sunday, August 24 from 2-4 pm. This free event will include creation of collaboarative prints inspired by quilts designs. No sewing involved!
Stitching together exhibition concepts from the Kennedy’s Stories from the Spaces In Between and The Dairy Barn Arts Center’s Quilt National ‘25, this workshop explores the history and hidden meaning behind quilt patterns. What are we missing when we aren’t looking? What stories can we tell and what connections can we make when we truly understand what’s being said? Through “translating” the language of quilt patterns let’s connect with the rich history of quilting in our own community. Then, let’s take it a step further and use rubber quilt stamps to make prints that tell our own stories!
All levels and ages of printmakers and creators are welcome, and materials will be provided. Printmaking with blocks requires a little pressure applied using hands, but can be modified for many abilities. Materials provided. All ages welcome and no experience needed.
Registration is required and allows for 25 guests. Please Register Here See you there!
