**Combined Exhibition Description: Material Matters and Resilience & Resistance**
The Kennedy Museum of Art at Ohio University proudly presents two significant exhibitions: "Material Matters" and "Resilience and Resistance," running from April 10, 2026, to March 21, 2027. "Material Matters," curated and designed by 26 undergraduate and graduate students from the Museum Studies Program, delves into craftsmanship and the cultural narratives conveyed through materials, preserving community histories. This exhibition is supported by partner lenders including Ohio University Libraries and the Southeast Ohio History Center.
Simultaneously, "Resilience and Resistance" features 23 compelling artworks responding to pivotal social events, ranging from Käthe Kollwitz's historical piece *Outbreak* to contemporary artworks addressing issues of racial and gender inequity. Curated by student interns Luiza de Araujo Caetano and Luca Gee, this exhibition emphasizes the vital role of art in activism and is funded by the Ohio Arts Council.
Both exhibitions invite visitors to engage with powerful artistic narratives and historical explorations, fostering dialogues around social issues and innovation in craftsmanship. Gallery hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, Thursday from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Admission is free, with appreciated donations. For inquiries, please contact 740.593.1304.
