Details:
Experience the natural beauty of The North Carolina Arboretum with our Guided Trail Walk program, running from April to October. This free hiking opportunity features small groups of up to 15 participants, led by trained volunteer guides who navigate diverse woodland trails. Each walk, lasting 1.5 to 2.5 hours and covering 1 to 2 miles, explores seasonal topics such as wildflowers, plant and tree identification, and natural history.
Guided walks occur on Tuesdays at 1 p.m. and Saturdays at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. No pre-registration is necessary; simply sign up on a first-come, first-served basis at the Baker Visitor Center. Please note that participants should dress appropriately for changing weather conditions, as the walks take place rain or shine. For safety reasons, guests under 16 years of age are not recommended to join the walks. Well-behaved leashed pets are welcome, but disruptive animals may be asked to leave.
While participation is free, donations to The North Carolina Arboretum Society are appreciated, and regular parking fees apply (Arboretum Society members park free). Join us for an enriching outdoor experience and immerse yourself in the diverse ecosystems of the Arboretum!
