Details:
Join Erin Canter for "Ferns and Friends" at the North Carolina Arboretum on Friday, July 10, from 10 AM to 12:30 PM. This educational outdoor class will explore the ecology, evolution, and diversity of ferns in Southern Appalachia. Participants will engage in hands-on learning, using hand lenses and nature journaling techniques to observe and identify various fern species around the Arboretum and Bent Creek, guided by field guides.
The program will take place predominantly outdoors along easy trails and paved walkways, so attendees should dress appropriately for the weather and be prepared for an outdoor experience throughout the session. Erin Canter, a Southern Appalachian Naturalist with extensive experience in ecological education, will lead the exploration.
Members can use their promo code to receive a 10% discount upon registration, and scholarships are available for those who may face financial barriers. For more details, registration, or inquiries, please contact adulteducation@ncarboretum.org or visit our website for additional programs. Don't forget to follow us on social media for updates and consider supporting the Arboretum through donations.
