Live Jazz: Ben Colvin Quartet & Special Guests

The Ben Colvin Quartet, led by Asheville saxophonist Ben Colvin, delivers a vibrant mix of groove-based music that encompasses 60s soul jazz, Afro Cuban rhythms, contemporary fusion, and funk. With band members Joe Enright (drums), Quinn Sternberg (bass), and Alex Taub (keys), expect an evening filled with timeless compositions and modern improvisations, including works by legendary artists like Wayne Shorter and Hank Mobley, alongside original pieces.

In addition, the Creative Strings Workshop & Festival takes place in Black Mountain, NC, from June 22 to July 3, bringing together world-class bowed string musicians for a two-week immersive program under the direction of internationally acclaimed violinist and educator Christian Howes. This festival culminates in the Creative Strings Showcase, featuring over 25 musicians presenting a diverse array of performances that highlight solos, chamber ensembles, and collaborative string arrangements. The event celebrates creativity in music, blending folk, jazz, improvisation, and contemporary compositions.
