Creative Gel Printing: Layers + Stencils class

Join Heidi Drost for an engaging class on Creative Gel Printing using the pochoir technique, where you'll explore the art of layered hand-cut shapes and stencil printing on gel plates. You'll learn to use simple mylar shapes, ink them, and carefully position them on an inked plate to create prints that showcase clarity, contrast, and rhythm. This enjoyable process strikes a balance between control and play, allowing you to craft both bold and subtle compositions through layering and repetition—no drawing skills are required, just a curiosity for shape, color, and design. All materials will be provided, although you are welcome to bring your own acrylic paints and gel plate if you have them. Pochoir, meaning "stencil" in French, is a printmaking method that layers color one shape at a time, resulting in expressive images characterized by clarity and design, historically popular in early 20th-century France.
