A Night of Poetry with Dr. Sam Dodson in partnership with Recluse Books

Join us for "A Night of Poetry" featuring Fort Worth poet, scholar, and educator Dr. Sam Fisher Dodson, in partnership with Recluse Books. This free public event, held in the Modern's auditorium, invites audiences to experience poetry as a live, reflective, and communal art form through readings and engaging conversation with Dr. Dodson. The evening is presented in connection with the special exhibition "Rashid Johnson: A Poem for Deep Thinkers." Dr. Dodson, a professor of English at Tarleton State University with 46 years of teaching experience, will share insights from his extensive literary work. Additionally, the exhibition includes a site-specific stage designed by Rashid Johnson, which serves as a platform for programmed performances and spontaneous activations, emphasizing the reciprocal relationship between artist and audience.
