Three sessions: May 1, 8 and 15 | 5:30 - 8:30 It's time to add pants making to your list of skills! The Chanterelle pants and shorts are a wonderful way to learn the basics of pants construction. These are meant to be casual bottoms that can take on any role in your wardrobe, with a comfortable elastic waistband, and front and back pockets. In this class all views are an option; view A is a wide-leg, full-length pant with some extra ease, view B is an easy fitting pant with patch pockets and tapers at the ankle, and view C is a short with patch pockets. During this class students will learn the basics of pant construction and different types of pockets. This class is ideal for confident beginner to intermediate. Students must have prior sewing experience and be able to thread and operate their own sewing machine. Required Materials: Sew Liberated Chanterelle Pants and Shorts pattern (available at Cottonwood) Fabric - Yardage is dependent on size Coordinating thread 1/4yd of lightweight fusible interfacing, either woven or non-woven Elastic, 2" wide - Yardage is dependent on size Recommended Fabrics: For the Chanterelle Pants and Shorts a light to medium weight woven fabric that has no stretch is recommended. Softer fabrics will fall more gently, more stable fabrics will emphasize the leg shaping. Fabric must be pre-washed and pressed before start of first class.
