Beginning Sewing Bucket Hat Class

Join us for the Beginning Sewing 102: Bucket Hat class on July 7th from 4-7 PM, led by experienced instructor Nancy Wiswall. This three-hour workshop targets advanced beginners looking to enhance their sewing skills by creating a stylish summer bucket hat. Participants will learn how to cut and assemble multi-piece patterns, sew smooth curved seams, and work with structured fabrics while mastering topstitching techniques. You will leave the class wearing your custom-made bucket hat, perfect for sunny days. Please bring 1/2 yard of fabric for the outer and lining of your hat, fusible interfacing, coordinating thread, a sewing machine, scissors, pins, and a printed copy of the pattern. We’ll provide the necessary tools like an iron and cutting mats. This class is perfect for ages 15 and up with basic sewing machine experience.
