The Westfield Athenaeum is a library dedicated to enriching its diverse community by providing open access to educational, cultural, recreational, and informational resources and programs. Its mission is to serve the people of Westfield by offering a wide array of services, including access to books, electronic resources, and historical collections. The Athenaeum hosts various programs for all ages, offers free library cards for residents, and is part of the CW/MARS library network. Services include an Archives & Local History collection, research assistance from librarians, borrowing of physical and digital materials, and interlibrary loan services. Additionally, it features two museums: the Jasper Rand Art Museum for rotating art collections and the Edwin Smith Historical Museum for artifacts from Westfield's history. The library also provides dedicated spaces and programming for children and teens, as well as a homebound delivery service for residents unable to visit in person. The Athenaeum is committed to continuous updates with new materials, technology, programs, and services to meet the evolving needs of its community.
