Salisbury House & Gardens

Salisbury House & Gardens is a historic house museum and vibrant events venue located in Des Moines, Iowa. Built in the 1920s by cosmetics magnate Carl Weeks and his wife Edith, the estate is modeled after the King's House in Salisbury, England, and features authentic 16th-century English oak woodwork, enchanting flintwork, and a collection of rare treasures. The Salisbury House Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation, owns and operates the house with the mission to preserve, interpret, and share its international significance for educational and cultural benefit. It serves as a public museum and cultural center, offering tours, hosting various events throughout the year, and providing venue rentals for weddings, social gatherings, and business functions. The collection includes antique furniture, artwork, and artifacts gathered by the Weeks family.
