Join us for this solo exhibition by Tedd Smith that offers a series containing "fractured" memories, comments, and historical data while featuring Michigan locales found Up North. Like his other works, these mixed media pieces include paper, ink, and a heavy saturation of acrylic paints.
Abstract reflections and ruminations about growing up in Michigan and what the communal, yet nebulous, concept of going "Up North" means to people.
In this non-traditional landscape series, the juxtaposition of the subject matter and its relationship to its environment (horizon lines, tree lines, foreground, etc.) are fractured and disjunct, accentuating one's recall or glimpse of a memory, time, and place.
