In this workshop, Professor Brad Leali will focus on improvisation, jazz phrasing, and rhythmic concepts that help develop a strong time feel — essential elements in building an authentic and personal approach to the jazz language. Open to instrumentalists of all levels, the workshop will explore practical tools for developing fluency, confidence, and expressive improvisation.
About Brad Leali
Known for his distinctive sound and deep connection to the jazz tradition, Brad Leali is one of today’s most respected saxophonists and educators. He has toured and recorded with numerous jazz greats, including extended tenures with the Harry Connick, Jr. Orchestra and the Count Basie Orchestra. Leali was also a longtime member of the Kennedy Center Honors Band and performed at President Obama’s inaugural celebration.
Currently Professor of Jazz Saxophone at the University of North Texas, Leali continues to perform internationally, including appearances with Lyle Lovett and His Large Band. He is an endorsed artist with Keilwerth Saxophones and D’Addario Reeds.
