Local Author Visit: Philip Neese

Join us at the library for a visit with local author Philip Neese!He will be talking about his book The DO Generation. When we look at northern Minnesota we think of walleyes, placid lakes, and quaint towns. Philip Neese, through a series of interviews, opens our eyes to the true history of a not-so-sedate Minnesota. These interviews range from war stories, the mafia in the mid-west, to the struggles of homesteading in the cold tundra of rural Minnesota. His book is an eye-opener to the not-so-distant past of a rugged generation of people who just did what they had to DO. Philip Neese is a retired police officer, author, and journalist. While conducting these interviews he served as the chairman of his township, senior deacon of his church, husband, father of five, and a professional woodcarver.
