Details:
Peter Barr and Paul Plassman are offering a free two-hour architectural walking tour of four buildings in downtown Adrian on September 19, 2026. The tour will begin at the 1861-63 Burnham Historical Building, 204 East Church Street, which is an outstanding example of Italianate architecture. From there the tour will explore structures along Church and Winter streets, including the 1855 Italianate-style Adrian Engine House No. 1, the 1909 Richardsonian Romanesque-style Lenawee Historical Museum (former Adrian Carnegie Library), and the 1888 Second Empire-style Clark Memorial Hall (Maggard Razors). No registration is required – just show up at the Burnham Historical Building’s parking lot at 1 pm. Wear comfortable walking shoes and expect both irregular pavements and stairs.
