Details:
Celebrate 100 years of Suffern Free Library with a special afternoon concert transporting us back to the era when swing was king! To mark our centennial, we are thrilled to host La Pompe Attack for a performance featuring an upbeat mix of popular music from 1920–1940.
Led by two-time Grammy-nominated guitarist Doug Munro, La Pompe Attack presents an exciting, updated interpretation of the Hot Swing sound of Django Reinhardt. Doug’s unique, highly entertaining style of playing and singing brings a modern energy to the classic sounds of the library's founding years.
“The real pleasure of New York guitarist Munro’s album rests in his obvious fondness for Django Reinhardt and the Quintette du Hot Club de France. His care and craft are at a high level.”
Downbeat Magazine
“Guitar heaven here as Munro and friends cover [sic] tunes in the style of Django Reinhardt.”
