Details:
Join us on August 21 for a night of storytelling at the Moth StorySLAM, taking place at two venues: Bloedel Hall, St. Mark's Seattle and Fremont Abbey Arts Center. Doors open at 7:00 PM, with the show starting at 8:00 PM. This all-ages open-mic competition invites participants to share true, personal stories of up to five minutes based on the theme of "Serendipity"—those happy accidents that lead to unexpected outcomes, like a wrong turn to a new best friend or a coffee spill leading to a soulmate encounter. While some seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis, ticket availability may be limited, and early arrival is suggested for those wishing to share their stories.
In addition, the evening also features Sarah Z, an internet sociologist known for exploring culture and community through her engaging video essays. Attendees can enjoy a selection of snacks and beverages from the Abbey Arts Bar, including local beers, wines, and non-alcoholic options. Please respect the event guidelines by refraining from talking during performances and limiting photos to ensure a pleasant experience for all. Fremont Abbey is ADA accessible and welcomes all ages.
